Jeremy Adam grew up in the Oklahoma City area. Graduated high school at Midwest City and received a scholarship to University of Oklahoma.  After a few mediocre semesters, Jeremy decided he wasn't ready for college.

He began managing restaurants at the age of 19.  He continued down that career path for 10 years while attending the University of Central Oklahoma.  After earning his bachelors degree in accounting, Jeremy worked for Copeland, Hild & Associates as a tax preparer.  He received his Masters of Business Administration in 2008 and shortly after sat for the CPA Exam.  Jeremy completed and received is Certified Public Accounting certificate in April of 2009 shortly after achieving a Certified Internal Auditor designation in March of 2009.  

 

Later that year, he accepted an offer with Chesapeake Energy as a senior income tax accountant.  His career at Chesapeake was riddled with experience in different areas of tax accounting.  In a short amount of time Jeremy became manager of the multi-state income & franchise tax department.  He proved to be an asset to the company by changing the tax department from a cost center to a profit center.  His ability to navigate large asset transactions in a multi-state environment led to over $50 million in tax savings.

Jeremy accepted an offer from OGE Energy Corp in October of 2015.  OGE provides a work/life balance that most companies fail trying.  He serves as the State & Local Tax Manager.  Part of his job is planning for upcoming legislation that could impact the company.  Jeremy has proven to be an asset at any company in navigating tax pitfalls.

Although his career in industry has been lucrative and the experience is invaluable, Jeremy has always known that the corporate life would never fill that void of customer service embedded in his work ethic.  Since receiving his CPA, Jeremy began building a tax service business mostly comprised of friends..........well all of his clients feel like friends.  Tax Matters People serves a variety of clients composed of businesses, non-profits and individuals.  We are currently searching for more friends!
